Our Farmstead

My husband and I started raising Mini Nubian goats in the summer of 2020. I've always been obsessed with the idea of cooking from scratch. That rabbit hole led me to milking goats!

Mini Nubians

This particular breed is a combination of Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf goats. This mix contributes to our goats' charming floppy ears, high milk production, and exceptionally sweet flavor. Our goat milk is not your typical grocery store variety – it is rich and free from any off flavors.

Raw Goat Milk

We raise our goats for milk to share with our community and to use in our kitchen. In order to produce milk, we have to breed our goats, so every year, we have new babies on the farm.

Our plan for 2024 was to start selling raw milk, but unexpected and unfortunate circumstances put our plans on hold. We will try again in 2025. Wish us luck!

Eggs

We have an abundance of eggs, so I make many egg-heavy recipes. If it has eggs in it, they come from our farm.

Have you ever seen a farm-fresh egg yolk? It is a rich orange and tastes far superior to the light yellow yolks from the grocery store.

Cheese

Making cheese at home can be surprisingly simple or delightfully complex, but either way, it's completely achievable. In just 30 minutes, I can transform a liquid into a deliciously chewy, soft, and melty cheese. â€‹

From goat's milk to cheese and onto a pizza - for me, this is authentically scratch cooking.

Yogurt

This might be my favorite item that we make with our milk. I make it in large unsweetened batches, and it can be used in a variety of dishes. I'm proud to say that we have perfected our yogurt. It's always creamy and delicious. If you ever see it in one of my recipes, it can easily be swapped for your typical plain Greek yogurt.

Ice Cream

Heavy Whipping Cream

Separating milk into cream and skim milk is a process, but it's worth it! Without cream, you can't make butter or ice cream. We make both!
